Regional Golf Tournament
April 15-16, 2024

The LVHS boys golf team participated in the 2024 Region 3 Golf Tournament on April 15 and 16 at The BearKat GC in Huntsville, TX. After the first day, the Vikings were tied for 3rd place with Palestine HS with a team score of 325, behind Livingston (313) and Bullard (297). The Vikings were leading the tournament after the first 9 of the second day at 11 over (total team scoring), but the back nine proved to be more difficult with the increasing temperature and winds. The Vikings finished the second day with a team score of 327. Unfortunately, the team's 2-day score was not sufficient enough to finish in the top 3. The team finished in 4th place behind Carthage HS (647), Livingston HS (631) and Bullard HS (614), so they will not advance to the State Tournament as a team. However, Bennett Lane did finish as the 5th place medalist, and he did score low enough to advance to the state Tournament as an individual medalist.
The State Tournament will be held at The Legends GC in Kingsland, TX, on April 29 and 30.

24AAAA District Golf Tournament - Boys
April 1 & 2, 2024

The LVHS boys golf team participated in the District 24-4A Tournament at The Legends Golf Course in Kingsland. The LVHS boys team finished as the District Runner-Up team and will be advancing to the Regional Tournament on April 15 and 16 at BearKat Golf Course in Huntsville, TX. The Vikings earned a two-day team score of 322-335-657, behind the district champion Lampasas team that shot 640. Tough winds and a 4-point deficit going into the second round of competition made a significant impact in the final results.

The Vikings recorded 4 All-District selections in Bennett Lane (District Champion), Reed Ray (4th place medalist, after losing a 3-hole playoff for 3rd place), Dalton McKinney (9th place medalist) and Mason Taylor (10th place medalist).

District Golf Tournament - Girls
March 25 & 26, 2024

Shout-out to the girl's golf team - at the District golf tournament this week we had several with PRs for the season, which is a testimony to their hard work.

Day 1
- Lana Spedale led our teams with a new PR of 106
Day 2
- Emily Wilson led the team with 101
- Bailey Burlew a new PR of 104
- Reagan Phariss a new PR of 106 & on her 16th Birthday
- Alexa Smith shot a new PR of 113

Our blue team finished 4th, the gold team finished 5th and Emily was 14th individually.

We will certainly miss our seniors Emily & Reagan, and wish them the best as they pursue their dreams!

The LVHS Boys golf team participated in the Colin Clarke Memorial golf tournament on March 21, 2024, at Delaware Springs GC in Burnet, TX. The Vikings earned 3rd place in the tournament, with a team score of 326, behind Cedar Park HS (320) and Liberty Hill (319).

Members of the team who participated in the tournament and their scores were Bennett Lane (77), Reed Ray (80), Harper Moxley (85), Dalton McKinney (84), and Aidan Velasquez (93). In the top ten medalists, Bennett Lane and Reed Ray landed the 4th and 6th best scores of the tournament. The field of teams consisted of a mix of 4A and 5A competition from Central Texas.

We had our best team score of the year (423) and several young ladies had PRs.

Emily Wilson (PR 98) led the team, Brighton Taylor (PR), Katelee Raggio (PR), Bailey, Reagan, Alexa & Lana also played well!

Burnet Golf Invitational - Boys March 5, 2024	Score

The LVHS Boys golf team participated in the Burnet Golf Invitational on 3-5-24 at The Legends GC. The Vikings earned 2nd place, overall, with a season-low team score of 310 behind Westwood HS (304). Liberty Hill captured 3rd place with a score of 316.
Reed Ray earned 1st place medalist in the tournament with a perfect round of even par. Reed Ray, Harper Moxley, Dalton McKinney, and Aidan Velasquez all recorded their lowest high school golf tournament scores to date. Bennett Lane also finished in the top ten, tied for 5th place. Participating members of the team who competed in this tournament were Bennett Lane (76), Reed Ray (72), Harper Moxley (82) , Dalton Mckinney (80), and Aidan Velasquez. Congratulations are in order to the team for placing second in the tournament, losing only to a 5A golf team, for beating several other 5A golf teams and for recording several season-low scores.

Pflugerville High School Golf Invitational - Boys February 26, 2024	Score

The LVHS Boys golf team participated in the Pflugerville High School Golf Invitational at Shadowglen Golf Course in Manor, TX. Our golf team recorded a season-low team score of 333, and placed 7th among 24 other Class 4A and 5A teams across Central Texas. Anderson HS won the tournament with a team score of 294, followed by Austin HS and Bowie HS, both sharing a team score of 302. The top medalist of the tournament recorded a score of 67, followed by a 2nd place 69, and a 3rd place 71. The competition at this tournament was extremely high, as one can tell by the numbers that were recorded for both individuals and medalists.
The LVHS Boys team consisted of Bennett Lane (76), Reed Ray (82), Harper Moxley (87), Dalton McKinney (88), and Mason Taylor (100). Our medalists included Aidan Velasquez (87) and Aidon Porter (116). Bennett Lane tied for the 7th best score among all medalists in the tournament.

Hutto Golf Invitational Tournament - Boys February 20, 2024	Score

The LVHS Boys golf team participated in the Hutto Golf Invitational at Star Ranch GC on Tuesday, 2-20-24, in Hutto, TX). The team consisted of Bennett Lane (73), Reed Ray (85), Dalton McKinney (101), Harper Moxley (85), and Mason Taylor (97). The Vikings finished in 7th place out of 25 teams (many 5A & 6A), with a team score of 340, behind Marble Falls (332), Liberty Hill (326), Hutto (321), Anderson (321), Lake Travis (318), and Bowie (306). Bennett Lane earned 3rd place medalist in the tournament with his individual score of 73.

The LVHS Boys Golf Team participated in the 15th Annual LV Spring Classic at Point Venture Golf Club on February 13, 2024. The Blue Team, consisting of Bennett Lane (75), Reed Ray (82), Dalton McKinney (89), Harper Moxley (89), and Gage Shook (93) were crowned tournament champions with a team score of 335. Other teams participating in the tournament were Jarrell, Lexington, McNeil, and St. Mary's Catholic School. Lago Vista also had three medalists competing in the tournament against medalists from Chilton, Connally, Manor, Manor New Tech, St. Mary's Catholic School, and Waco University, Lago Vista's medalist were Mason Taylor (83), Aidan Velasquez (87), and Aidon Porter (108).

The LVHS Golf team participated in their second tournament of the season on February 7, 2024 at Scott Schreiner GC in Kerrville, TX. Fighting a field of fierce competitors and a constant 25+ mph cold wind, the Vikings failed to bring home any hardware this week.

Our Blue team placed fifth, with a team score of 335, behind Llano (329), Devine (327), Wall (318), and Wimberley (303). Bennett Lane tied for sixth place medalist with a score of 78. Members participating (with their scores) in the Llano Invitational were

The LVHS Boys Golf Team participated in their first golf tournament of the season at Hancock Park Golf. The Blue team, consisting of the following athletes, placed 5th out of 21 teams.
